Hey everyone, and welcome to my first Smite God Guide on Ares, The God of War. I hope that you all benefit from this guide, and that it improves and influences how you play Ares. I prefer to play Ares as a Magical Damage Bruiser, although he can be played as a Pure Tank (however I think you would have to be really silly to build him as a pure tank). .... This Ares build provides no magical defense other than 20 from Sovereignty's passive. It only gives physical protections and I'm not so sure about the choice of Void Blade (usually this item is great for physical damagers, but Ares has little of that himself and you're really only justified in buying it if you're playing with a lot of phys on both sides.)
