Came back 4 days.so my guess you mean, hot engine races,because cold engines all do that , by design. racing idle hot. engine not hot. thermostat bad. engine hot and Ect Sensor lies, (wires fell off) ISC valve stuck open or wires, bad to it. vacuum hose knocked loose or you cracked it, now sucks air and engine races, (speed density EFI systems.ok i have the 07 silverado 5.3 new body. i'm going through the same issue motor hot a/c turned off. well i have replaced before all this started replaced the rad cause it was cracked replaced the temp sensor and the stat. and still having the problem now i don't even have to have the truck running and fans start full and says redused power. took it to a dealer i was told my dash cluster is ...2006 impala indicater says engine hot A/C off whats wrong and how to fix. Mine did the same thing. The thermostat was stuck open. Replace thermostat, the problem went away. If stuck open, it doesn't get to operating temperature when cold and indicates the engine is too hot when it's warm outside. 0 helpful..
